Company Fujitsu-Siemens Computers has developed and has released the bar of compact, powerful, multimedia notebooks with the integrated functions of wireless communication WLAN and possessing large-format matrix LCDTFT of a high-resolution. Transportable computers became usual arrangements of an active part of employees of numerous corporations as thanks to successes of computer processing techniques the weight of laptops step-by-step decreases from year to year.

Such computer gives possibility of operation with documents in separation from stationary office computer. Here it is necessary to mark, that for notebooks rather long there were problems with rather low time of the standalone functioning limited on the one hand in size of the secondary generator, with another — energopotrebleniem units entering into their structure. But step-by-step the problem dares. Application of the powerful transportable processor of Intel of Pentium M allows to combine high values energoekonomichnosti and productivity in calculations. It is provided by the optimal architecture of kernel Dothan providing presence of the cache memory of great volume – L2 = 2048 Kbytes, the high-speed bus of 400 MHz, and also nearby original energosberegajushchih processing techniques. Processor operation is fulfilled in several frequency modes with respective alteration of levels of a supply voltage of a kernel. And, as is known, energy consumption by that processor more than above a supply voltage and frequency of operation. By the way, productivity of the processor depends on frequency, and, therefore, and all system. But these parametres can be reduced automatically in case of performance of simple tasks and to raise at difficult variants. It is necessary to add, that not involved units and subsystems of a kernel of the processor either are disabled, or are in a sleeping mode with minimum energopotreblenii. Such tactics saves a considerable share of energy of the secondary generator and provides increase in time of offline work.

This economic functioning is supported by the special chipset of system logic of the set of Intel  855. It provide an optimum behaviour of the processor and will organise teamwork of subsystems of the transportable computer. This set is specially developed for transportable solutions and provides usage of high-powered memory DDR SDRAM. By the way, memory cells also as well as the processor work in energosberegajushchih modes. As a result of their implementation in each instant only the involved units actively function, the others are in a sleeping mode at minimum energopotreblenii.

Usually in notebooks from Intel 855 the drawing built in a chip set uses, however in AMILO M 1420 the separate videoadapter on chip ATI (a Fig. 2) is used. It, by the way, provides very much productivity high level.

To save the information it is possible not only on a hard disk of high size, but also by means of writing DVD/CD-drive.

As to considered model of a notebook at a rated frequency of the processor of Intel of Pentium M of 1,70 GHz productivity Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO M 1420 in a number of tests exceeds metrics of the desktop variants created on the basis of Intel of Pentium 4 with clock rate of 2,8 GHz and even above.

However it is necessary to remember, that high efficiency modes are characterised considerable energopotrebleniem. Results of testing

For an estimation of productivity Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO M 1420 as the measurement standard notebook RoverBook Nautilus E410W (Intel of Pentium M of 1.5 GHz, Intel chip set 855GM, the built in drawing, 14.1"LCD TFT, XGA - 1024 x 768, HDD 40 Gbytes, DVD/CD/CD-RW/CD-R) has been selected  .

Estimating metrics of productivity Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO M 1420, it is necessary to mark, that test CPUMark99 has shown the results coinciding with metrics of productivity of desktop system with motherboard ASUS P5AD2 and the processor of Intel of Pentium of 4 3,4 GHz.

It allows to work with it long time, not being exposed to negative effect of the noise, irritating which operation is known to all users of modern high-powered systems. It, perhaps, one of the main, positive properties of the similar systems maintained as rather powerful multimedia complexes.

Coming back to value judgment of results of durable usage of transportable computer Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO M 1420 with processing technique of Intel Centrino in different modes and different conditions of service, it is necessary to mark, that such arrangements really in most cases allow to refuse desktop systems.

Wide functionality of modern multimedia notebooks already on advantage was estimated by numerous users.
